Diane Devine has lived a very exciting and colorful life. She became a serious painter in 1962 when she was inspired by an art teacher at San Francisco State. In her 50s she was an accomplished caterer bringing a unique artistic touch to her clients' events. She was praised for her creative interior design and gardening style with a 14 page spread in Country Home's Country Gardens magazine. As a painter she gained recognition using pen and ink and acrylics but her journey continues today with her vibrant watercolors. Diane's artwork has been displayed in galleries from Carmel to San Francisco. No mater what adventure she has partaken, she has done so with her own unique style and an artists' eye.
Inspired by extended stays in Paris throughout the 80's and 90's, Diane now maintains an atelier (studio) in San Francisco, where she grew up. Her French country paintings feature the fabrics of Provence, the antique cookware she collects, farmers' market fruits, flowers, and vegetables arranged in her garden and home. Visit her studio in San Francisco and feel like you've stepped into one of her paintings. You will be most welcome by appointment.
